Synapsids were mammal-like reptiles that lived 310-0 mya if we count with it's descendants mammals.

Three synapsids (without counting with mammals) appeared in Evolution's Winners. Inostrancevia, at the beginning of the episode, Ischigualastia, and Probelesodon. Although they were not dinosaurs, a relatively small number of species did survive the Permian extinction.
