Gigantoraptor is a genus of oviraptorid theropod dinosaur which lived during the late Cretaceous period in what is now Mongolia.

Survival Tactics

A male Gigantoraptor was seen flapping his wings and using a mating call. A female Gigantoraptor soon appeared. As the male started dancing, the female watched. As the male started leaping repeatedly, he disturbs a family of Zalambdalestes which were underground. As the ground above began to give way, they ran. As the male Gigantoraptor continued his performance, the ground beneath him got weaker and weaker. The Zalambdalestes family watched as the daylight shone through the soil. As the male Gigantoraptor was leaping, the ground gave way and his foot got stuck underground. He then collapsed onto the ground. The Zalambdalestes family climbed up his leg and exited the now non-existent burrow. The female Gigantoraptor left and the male chased her. The female then returned and went to a group of performing male Gigantoraptor.
